Works in Progress

Works in progress and/or making their way through the editor's slush piles:

Working title:  Unethical Magic.  Novel length urban fantasy about a graduate student who tangles with powerful magical beings and accidentally turns her boyfriend into a vampire with a spell.  (Her boyfriends don't all die—some of them just turn into cross dressing bisexuals with rotten taste in clothes.)

Working Title:  Apocalypse Nowish.  Novel length epic style tale about a Buffy-like demon slayer who brings the world to an end and risks everything to set it right—even though she's happier post-apocalypse with the vampire lover she could never permit herself before.

Working Title:  Zombie Love.  Novella length comic story about a woman who goes to a stage show and sees her dead ex-husband stripping for the crowd.  Complex magical system and good vs. evil in this one!

About Me

 As a child I wanted to grow up to be a superhero or a poet.  Because the Justice League was not taking new members, I started writing stories instead.  I got a masters degree in creative writing from Northern Michigan University.  Raised and educated in Michigan, I now live in New Mexico.

For those who like astrology, I'm a Taurus Sun, Gemini Rising, Scorpio Moon, Mercury in Gemini.

Raised to be a fundamentalist, dancing, makeup, movies and large jewelry were strictly forbidden. So naturally I love them all.

I'm 45 years old. I have a disability (paralyzed right hand—no masturbation jokes, please!) that entitles me to a handicapped placard for my car, but I'm too proud to use it—unless the parking is really, really bad.  Before the hand problem, I designed and made jewelry using polymer clay and other materials.

I've also been a technical editor. I read Tarot cards for fun, but not profit.

 I've collected the usual accessories—2 daughters, 2 dogs, 1 husband, dozens of handbags.  Hats, too!
